The Window's Collage

Looking through the mirror,
Of purple veils... of tales.
Reminds me of my memories,
Distance patterns...Time knew well.

Waking to the morning,
White lilies... blue jay's swing,
Listening to a heart,
That can't feel a single thing.

Clinging to the sunlight,
Basking in the rain,
Wondering in the shadows,
Of pages torn in vain.

Guard the window's riches,
Seal the promise in lace,
House, I see you clearly,
Vanishing without a trace.

The Power to Touch Lives

Do you
have
the power
to
touch lives?

Are you defeated
in
every second
of
every hour?

Is your heart withholding the keys
to put many out of their miseries?

Were you created to make somebody see
what their purpose in life is suppose to be?

Were you put down here to be of some help
to uplift when others can't do it for themselves?

You're Holdin' Your Own

Well it's another lonely day on the battlefield,
As my mind tries to tell me that life isn't real,
Heavy heart as the tears flood my soul,
Am I dreaming or is this getting old?

While I deal from the hip with a smile and dance,
In my eyes are the signs of no true romance,
Holdin' on to hope knowing... I should be loved,
Let me laugh again... be that soaring dove.

Reprise...

Cinderella's story... wasn't my lot I see,
I lost what was instilled in the soul of me,
Redefining the magic of who... I was meant to be,
Making my life culminate in stark reality,
In the fray, 'I'm still holdin' my own'
