When Santa lost his sleigh
When Santa Lost His Sleigh
When Santa Claus went out today
He found that he had lost his sleigh
The reindeers all looked amused
Knowing they could not be used
So Santa wished upon a star
And wished himself a magic car
And thought to himself ‘I’m quite astute’
To also wish ‘a magic boot’
To fit within the games and toys
For all expectant girls and boys
But the car was far too cold to start
‘I should have got a horse and cart’
He thought, as he now turned away
To see the reindeers with the sleigh! !

Our Christmas
Our Christmas
Christmas came early for you and for me
Christmas with no gifts to open
Christmas without any yuletide tree
Christmas with words of love spoken
Christmas was walking to York hand in hand
Christmas in awe at the Minster
Christmas togetherness was just what we planned
Christmas was chaffed legs and blisters
Christmas was cups of tea served early morn
Christmas was being together
Christmas was loving from dusk until dawn
Christmas remembered forever
Christmas was driving through floods for the view
Christmas ‘our planning’ was starting
Christmas our Christmas meant so much to me
Christmas our bitter sweet parting

The Dark Lord
The Dark Lord
Only where the summer fails
With wilderness around
Only where the shadow sails
And the wind there makes no sound
Only where the light of day
Pierced seldom from the sky
Is where you find a grey faced man
Whose age deceives the eye
His image is not young or old
He looks up to the sky
He tells you of dark stories told
Dark lands which howl and cry
And evil thoughts
From evil minds
In evil lands
The dark one’s rise
Shrink back in fear their power unfolds
