LANDON BAY

OPUS 41

The gentle breeze puts leaves to sway.
Light ripples caress the glassy sheen.
The red sloop is moored in Landon Bay
An idyllic setting, so serene.

Distant islands off the tree-lined point,
Covered with a haze of misty gray.
Somehow, time is out of joint,
Close to the town of Gananoque.

When gazing on this peaceful scene,
One wonders why this place is here,
Or if the presence of a single scream,

Oh, how he yearned for the sunshine boys.
And, the days he was young and free.
When he was captivated by the joy,
Of shipping off to sea.
