The Color Drains From My Face;

and I lose my place
and everything that made me,
the person I used to be
bleeds out of me,
into a puddle on the floor
to be looked at
and watched for
to make sure,
I don’t fall back into
old habits
die hard,
but I’ve given up
everything
for this
because with everything
I was
this wouldn’t work
this couldn’t work
and I swore
if it didn’t work

Loneliness takes my hand;

and I fall hostage to my emotions again,
it’s grip grows tighter upon the beating of my heart,
and I hold on tighter to the sorrow,
that’s become all I know anymore
you swore it couldn’t work
wouldn’t work
but I thought
if it doesn’t work
I’ll make it work
and I tried
but effort unrequited
turns to regret
of what could’ve been
but never was
and all I wanted was love
but I was just never enough
for you, was I?
and everything I did
I did it in vain
and I did it for you.

Listen? I Don't Think You Could Bear.

There’s a town
Deserted and broken down
Abandoned, not one person stayed around,
But it’s said if you listen, there’s a sound
Of painful stories and tears hitting the ground
Though there’s not a person to be found
Crashing on to the one fertile soil, all forgotten bound
Are stories that will never reach your ears
If they would have, would you have cared?
About the tragic, these unheard voices shared
A descriptive epic of your fears
Closer then you think but further then near
Listen? I don’t think you could bear
Souls stripped of love
It’s no wonder they gave up
And packed up all their stuff
The odor will fill your nose,
A stench of death, lost hopes
Honestly, you’ll never be the same
There’s well enough pain to make go insane

Ocean, Emotions, Air, Love, Volcanos, You Erupt.

The ocean is a metaphor,
For emotions.
Not completely understood and drags you places without you even realizing you are moving.
So much is beneath the ocean surface, so much is beneath a smile.
No one really knows expect for those that live in it or live through it.
Ironically the ocean is salty; as are tears.
I know because throughout these years,
so many have fallen from my face.
I know how they taste.

Volcano’s are a simile.
For bubbling emotions kept inside.
There’s so much the eyes can never predict.
The lava boils, threatening to explode.
Anger, pain and hurt behind the harmless appearance of a smile.
Ash and soot, and burning lave behind the appearance of a mountain.
Signs are thrown here and there.
But you have to be looking, you have to know enough.
And when it all erupts, the town is devastated.
How could they be so blind?
