Give Me Dark Any Day

Darkness a shroud, created to blind
Light often leaves somebody behind
Dark is forever, faithful and true
Light often hides all the lies from you
You think light brings answers, no
Night does that, just so you know
Night is protective
Light, selective
Night is a comfort, a blanket, and friend
Light hides more lies and ways to pretend
Night is how you protect yourself
Light brings pain that you'd rather put away on a shelf
Watch as night appears as Light fades in the west
Now can you see why I like Dark best?
On that note, I leave you with this
Know that Night will protect you with a dark, sweet abyss
