The Soldiers View

The soldier in question
said the world
contains evil.
If it didn't contain evil
we wouldn't have to construct God
no evil no God.
I think.
No evil no wars
but this is not human
possibility we need entertain
because there will always
be evil.
There will always be war
because human beings
are aggressive animals.
These were his thoughts
friends you might agree
or choose not to agree
but the evidence points?

The Wintertime Blues

Anna is wearing dark gown
winters spells holding her down
swear the clocks stopped
hope my ears not blocked
with these winter time blues.

The astral stars run long
I'm writing her love song
reading her taro card sign
unmasking her seductive design
with these winter time blues.

Ocean blue birds gone west
I play blues to confess
how true love never dies
is elusive and often flies
with these winter time blues.

Winter creates heady weight
lovers and others call fate

Rewrite Her Lines

Recently uncovered these lunar lines
bout spacey romantic other times
within another life I hear her name
so listen catch my stargazing game.

Tonight I investigate midnight stars
check out venus soul and mars
charter her planetary sign
read far reaches of mine.

Tonight I'm dressed to confess
leather clad to impress
unmask my lovers disguise
to open her lost eyes.

Tonight black cat moans low
as our astral bodies glow
glow beneath star dripping sky
grappling with ecstasy we lie.

Gotta Weather The Storm

Friend fell into alcoholic maze
the kind who never ceases to amaze
leaving me with only words to say
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Here's clue, he's got woman trouble
guess easy to say he's seen double
so I'm gonna lay it down again
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Working hard all this year long
he can't tell right from wrong
so I'll ring it from day one
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Swore aloud how he's thinking suicide
thinking aloud bout rising river tide
so I'll sing it from day two anew
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

The Blues Line

Hear blues arrived from Southern starlight,
like musical blackbirds in flight.
Originally with negro spiritual flow,
underlined with the hard blues glow.

Moving across mason dixie line,
discovering Chicago rhythm and rhyme.
Where going electric was the thing,
man did you hear the sounds ring.

The howling wolf amongst others,
Muddy Waters, BB-King were brothers.
Creating chess musical legends anew,
whose fiery blues sound rang true.

Across the Atlantic ocean way,
the Chicago blues found a new day.
A new British scene was born,
another blues voice found form.

Ode To Eric Clapton

Hear Eric Clapton's got the blues
did he pay his dues
have you heard the news
hear Eric Clapton's got the blues.

Nicknamed old slow hand in band
Eric is the master blues guitar hand
always with his back against the wall
yet Eric Clapton stands noble and tall.

Started out over thirty years ago
his guitar style developed blues flow
an second only too late Jimi Hendrix
Eric played with heavy cream mix.

Through the high times and the bad
sometimes feeling crazy and mad
battling wild destructive stardom scene
taking trips both right and wrong dream.

Beneath Full Waxed Moon

Tonight full waxed moon gleaming, dreaming, steaming.
Tongues are fulla hot summer lovers omen signs
erotic lines seductively flow in undressed rhymes
as capricorn woman and I glow beneath silver moon.
Atmosphere grows charged with sex within room.

Tonight full waxed moon gleaming, dreaming, steaming.
Sky is full laced with starry shining spaces
desire covers our breath covering dark faces
cry of the wolf fills out chanting sky
passion gazes fill our natures lustful eye.

Tonight full waxed moon gleaming, dreaming, steaming
our bodies are but part of ceremonial bout.
Fiery temperature leaves no room for doubt
bare our bodies lay smoldering with hunger
dancing kisses tempt their fresh flesh plunder.

Tonight full waxed moon gleaming, dreaming, steaming.
Our room sways and throws as we gather embrace.

Shakespeare Daughter's Hungry Street

Jules travelled down smoking art surreal street
to explore bohemian style flavoured beat.
Where all the noble artist souls are found
carrying her doves heart, she was stage bound.
Down to Shakespeare daughter's hungry street.

Jazz sax soared art savouring lovers danced.
Midget naked dancing twin brothers pranced.
Fire eater sister showed her fiery flash style.
Marching the military two step erotic mile.
Down upon Shakespeare daughter's hungry street.

Some priest held paintings of narrow grief.
Some lovers carried crosses of their belief.
Some miracle workers photographed their smile.
Some frozen suit prophets flaunted their style.
Down upon Shakespeare daughter's hungry street.

The red body wine skull shape face glowed.
Humanities blood of experience muse flowed.
