Internal Bleeding

Lies fill the air, fogging up the city,
too much to take in, I'm suffocating...

Drown.

The sidewalk is painted a scarlet-crimson.
Blood not my own, but my brothers ended...

Here.

Forgive me my friends, but I cannot die.
Too much to do and not enough time...

Left.

Shaking, I stand on the bones of the fallen
To reach my goal, so much sacrifice but...

Why?

Ignorance Of The Masses

Men march on and fall in line
led to the slaughter; just like swine
at the end of the day they hold heads high
while I count the bodies of those who die

They put on their war paint
they lock and load
they don't know why they fight
they just do what they're told

if they open their eyes
they'll begin to see
the world for what is
not what it should be
but who's asking me?

Suicide won't solve anything
and that's just what war is
causing needless strife
with a gun and a knife:

Schism

Two sides to every story,
What if both sides are wrong?
Then you have to find some answers
Can't we all just get along?

The clichés of today
are endless and draining
The mind requires food for thought
But the body's abstaining.

-----

separation of church and state
Has let too many fools astray
Like puppies they rely on training

Conditioning was all one thing
But math and faith taught separately
Is what my nation promised me
So why do I see differently?

Adam and The Angel

Birds of prey
But are stuck to the ground
Trying to fly
When there's no one around

I will one day earn my wings

And fly far away
From this place of hate
And take you with me
I Toss away fate

There is no such thing
As destiny
There is only what happens
When you leave things be

Fly away
Far away
I took the pills, but kept the pain

The Hillside

On a hillside in the North
a drummer boy marches
parading through flying lead
wading through marshes

Thrown in a war
he knows not about
he drums solemly
now there is doubt

In the back of his mind
an itch in his head
he pauses to think
and is a shot in the leg

Lead rushes through veins
but still he drums
Battle Hymn of the Republic
he quietly hums

Supernova

Sand;
It clogs my nose.
It dries my mouth.
I cover my mouth with a scarf
of red, white and blue.

Special operations;
Under this discipline,
I am trained to navigate
The deserts as a lone wolf.

My mission is simple;
I am to place beacons
For air-strikes in the heart
Of enemy encampments.

Sneak in and sneak out;
Nothing could be easier
Under covers of darkness and storm
Where sand flies and strips bare all.
