Bedtime For Paris

For my Daughter Paris

Sleep, close your eyes
The terrors of the night will pass you by
Darkness creeps in, the shadows, they talk, they speak
Back and Forth, Creak to Creep, Squeak to Sneak
Thicker and thicker the blackness descends
Bringing Beast and Creature to no end

Sleep, quiet your mind
The horrors of psyche can be unkind
As fiend and foe pass, through the glass
Into the emptiness, the abyss
Forever linking fear and darkness

Sleep little one, do not be scared
My soul to you I will bare
My life I would give to keep you safe
Whether Dragon, Demon, Beast or Wraith
When you’re frightened, be aware
