The nonsense woman

The nonsense woman lives in our street
She really is not a pleasure to meet
She goes on and on about her cat Mylogie
And makes our day quite foggy

The nonsense woman went to the shops
That was just before she drops
Her cat Mylogie
And got quite soggy

The nonsense woman found another cat
The cat sat on her mat
She called it Tinker
Who was a bit of a stinker

The nonsense woman lay in bed
But to her lonliness and dread
Tinker and Mylogie were both gone
So these days she won't even eat a scone

Maybe True Love

Maybe true love is here
With everything that glows
Dreams of night everywhere
In fresh summerset goes

Moss is covered in blooms
Little reddish and white
Birds in their making grooms
Day and thru every night

Maybe true love is you
Flying in moods tenderly
Evening and daybreaks thru
Always on wings cross free

Yesterday as new tomorrow
Finding its route and way
Splendid landscape borrow
every on rising new day

I'll Write You A Poem

I’ll write you a poem
Which will by the day remind you
That I’m still lurking around
As a good friend who’s always true

I’ll write you a poem
About friendships that fickle
About friends like fiends
So that you’ll remember I
With radiance like a star up in the sky

I’ll write you a poem
Of my longings and want
Which by the day makes me hurt
Bleeding black blood
Shedding tearless tears
How inside they flow
Because we’ve refused to water
What earlier we had sown

Taking Away Grandfathers

Fat as rainbows belching into the city
And in the suburban yards one or two city cypress
As new as truant children skipping from school;
And if you look into the mouths where lions yawn,
Whole kaleidoscopes filled with city school
Buses,
And the long, young yards cut up by palmettos:
When it rains tender hooks- the alligators snore,
And you spend a long, young time
Passing smoke between the mouths- and Roman
Candles send up hopeless flares to the
Finnish bellies of the airplanes who go and then leave
Like holidays,
Spreading their arms like superheroes- and then
Taking away grandfathers or whoever once existed
Before your eyes.

A Copying Cat

A day / A night
A pet / A sight
Paws / Thy Claws
Fur white / Hellkite
Small teeth / Thy Jaws

Red, brown? White, grey? Born stark?
At night all cats are dark

Bear crown? Without way? No marque?
In the dark all cats' labels are park

All cats are cat, at night,
No doubts about their power, their might,
Let none question the fear they incite,
'Cause for advantage they have cat's spite,
And night is quite the cat's best site,
For proven the fact, which strangeness is quite,
That is at the dark where cat's do their flight,
And none's is worst than a very cat's bite

Cat On Hat

I would not wear my old spats
so long as I had cat on hat,
We'd step in puddles water splat
but high and dry is cat on hat,
Piñata, piñata chant brats with bats
but safe from reach is cat on hat,
In winter warm my hat hair mat
love is a cosy cat on hat,
On windy days the hat sits pat
anchored by the cat on hat,
Geriatric romance is never flat
with a wing fur ball cat on hat,
The older ladies stop to chat
but always to the cat on hat.

Goodwill Permeating Everything…

Everything is lined up because Martin helped,
Tiaan’s “wildlife farm” and tourist attraction,
with a model in wood, Nici with a fossil in
plaster of Paris, without Martin I would have
paid someone to do the trick, I’m an academic
myself, today schools require engineers and
private entrepreneurs… I’m so happy, at least
I washed the floor while everyone had their
own kind of fun! Thanking Martin in verse is
all I can do for his wonderful job in taking care
of the kids, checking that Tiaan cleans his shoes –
and Nici’s also, seeing as she covered all his books,
the feeling of goodwill in the house is permeating
everything…

Dream Catcher

Hanging by the window,
the dream catcher waits,
to catch me a dream, that's hopefully great.

Quiet and still, it waits in the night,
to catch a dream, traveling in flight.

Its web is of leather, its feathers light,
the magic it works, carries great height.

Will it bring me a lover, a funny story or song?
or, will it bring nightmares
where everything goes wrong...

The time is now near, for me to lie down
and wait for a dream that's happy and sound.

Dream catcher, dream catcher,
caution you please,
my heart is now calm, my mind is at ease

Some times I feel like 2

Some times I feel like I am a person that will change the world
Sometimes I feel like I can run a million miles
Sometimes I feel like an eagle flying in the sky free and strong
Sometimes I feel like God like I can do any thing
Sometimes I feel like a small child because when I see something Beautiful I cant stop looking at it J
Sometimes I feel like an old man with all these old stories
Sometimes I feel like a parent with all this care and love for the children and young ones (even thou I am young myself)
Sometimes I feel like a jerk for treating my good friends badly
Sometimes I feel like a lost sole in a lost kingdom
Sometimes I feel like a lot of things

Remembering St. Lewis

I will always remember St. Lewis
For it was the gateway to the west
It’s an exciting and bustling city
As the folks from Spanish Cove will attest

Higher education opportunities
Started back many years ago
Improvements all through the years
Created a city that would smoothly flow

The history of St. Lewis, Missouri
Is dotted with many famous men
Major Robert E Lee, for example
Was part of this expansion trend

Adorned with flowers and statues
Restaurants that make you smile
We enjoyed our interesting visit
And relaxed there for awhile
